Make a Tax-Smart Gift Through Your IRA
If you are age 70½ or older, you may be able to support Meals on Wheels Diablo Region directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), often called an IRA charitable rollover.
You can donate up to $111,000 annually directly from your IRA to a qualified charity. If you are subject to a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), your gift may count toward all or part of that requirement. Because the distribution is made directly to charity, it is generally excluded from your taxable income.

- Satisfies all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for the year
- May reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
